Project title: The anthropic impact on the behavior of neotropical primates.

Abstract: Abstract: The suppression of natural habitats forces primates into closer coexistence with rural and urban areas, or into isolation caused by fragmentation. In my research, I seek to investigate how these factors alter behavioral patterns in Neotropical primates. By compiling data available in the current literature, I analyzed how feeding, resting, locomotion, and social interaction behaviors can be affected as a result of anthropic impact. For this, we categorized anthropization into three groups: rural areas, urban areas, and degraded areas. I compared data from anthropized and non-anthropized regions to understand their adaptations. This analysis will allow us to understand how much of the natural way of life of these animals is altered in order to survive in an altered landscape. These changes affect not only primates, but entire ecosystems that depend on their important role in seed dispersal.
